Lodging Options

We are currently examining three housing options and will select one soon.

Option #1 – Selina Hostels. This is where we have been most of the time for the last few years. Selina is a global hostel chain with 10 locations in Costa Rica. Mike has stayed at 9 of these locations, most for extended stays. They offer various room options and payment plans (daily, 2 weeks, 1 month). They also have coworking facilities, a pool, and a restaurant, all conveniently located. Participants work with Selina directly.

Option #2 – Hotels. Each location has a variety of hotels, and we did this on one location previously. We work in the restaurant, by the pool or elsewhere in town. Most of the hotel options have a restaurant and a pool. Participants will work directly with the hotel.

Option #3 – Large luxury home. We might consider renting a large luxury home with many bedrooms, a pool and a big kitchen so we can cook our own meals if we like (when we want). There are variations with multiple apartments in the same,e facility. We will rent a golf cart or a car as these options are further from the beach and the town center. Costs are shared among the participants.

Community and activities

Everyone in town knows where Selina is located. Everybody likes and respects Selina. With a restaurant and pool open to the public, it’s trendy at night with dancing and live music. It’s a “hot brand.”

Each location has a full-time activities coordinator, and their knowledge and insider connection are invaluable when you want to do any activities or have a general question.

Because the space is very limited at the venues, it is essential to commit early as these venues have only 20-45 total rooms, and the best ones get booked fast.

The Digital Nomad Pass

This program is best with a 2-week or Monthly Pass that lets you visit multiple locations. You can join in the event at any time at any of the locations and follow us around. Your Digital Nomad pass will have a different beginning and ending. Nightly room rates are available, but they can be much higher.

What You Get

Selina’s amenities include a swimming pool, a restaurant/bar, weekly live music, yoga classes and additional free activities. Iguanas come to eat lunch and you can feed them a banana.
