About Costa Rica

Costa Rica is in the middle of Central America, with Nicaragua to the North and Panama to the South. It is a very stable country with no army, outstanding educational programs and excellent hospital systems. They say it’s the Switzerland of Central America. The blue dots below show where Selina has properties in Costa Rica

The map above shows the major cities in Costa Rica. There are two types of locations – inland/tropical cities and beaches/resorts.

This event takes place at the very peak of the tourist season. We are there at the best time of the year in every aspect. I’m in Minnesota and I won’t miss shoveling snow one bit this winter (like last winter). I have a special trick for lodging at Selina and the rooms you want will sell out soon, so don’t dilly dally.

The temp will be a high of about 90 and a low of about 80. It will be sunny pretty much every minute of every day. There will probably be no rain at all on the trip, except a little bit perhaps in La Fortuna. During COVID, the crowds are down a bit and it’s easier to do everything.

Costa Rica is especially easy for business because it is in the Central Time Zone. You can deal with your customers from Costa Rica just as you would if you were at home. If you hire a VA from the area, you will both be located in convenient time zones.

You will feel very safe in Costa Rica, particularly in the places we will be. They don’t have a crime problem, there are no guns, the healthcare system is robust and you will have special insurance. That said, look out for your “stuff,” as petty theft of phones, purses, and wallets is not uncommon.

COVID in Costa Rica

As of July 4, 2022 Costa Rica has no COVID requirement for tests or vaccinations. You can come and go as you did before COVID.

Because we are staying at Selina, you will make friends of all ages. I met Hamish Gardner (18, below left), an aerial photographer (drones) and videographer from Germany on my first stop and we became friends instantly.

I got him up and running on LinkedIn, then invited my network to connect with him. He did some video shooting for me. Like many people I met, he will be back in Costa Rica once again in 2022.

Hamish is an aerial photographer with drones. You can meet interesting people in bars as well.

You can run into really interesting people at the pool, the restaurant, lobby and playing pool. I felt somewhat short at times.

Fellow Selina travelers – it’s easy to find something to do and people to join you.
